How to generate and use a custom configuration file in Odoo

After installing a new instance of Odoo, you would like to change the default settings in the configuration file in most of the cases. In order to do that, you need to generate a configuration file with the default Odoo settings, firstly. In Linux, you can do that with the following command:

python odoo.py --stop-after-init -s <config_file_path>

After changing the file according to your needs, you can use it by starting the server as follows:

python odoo.py -c <config_file_path>
